Martial law trump 20201/6/2024 “My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics,” Milley said. Milley publicly apologized for his appearance in Trump’s walk across Lafayette Square to pose for photos in front of a church partially burned during protests. John’s Church with a bible amid an entourage, which included Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. “If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” Trump said in a White House statement on June 1 - just before he posed for a photo opportunity outside Washington, D.C.'s St. In June, at the height of the protests surrounding the death of a Black man named George Floyd at the hands of a white Minnesota police officer, President Donald Trump alluded to the Insurrection Act as a means of calling up active duty troops to quell civil unrest as protest erupted across the country. “The purpose of utilizing the mechanisms of insurrection act is to enforce the law, not replace it.” “One of the important things to remember about the Insurrection Act is that it’s not martial law,” Banks said. If the situation does not resolve itself, the President may issue an executive order to send in troops,” according to a 2006 Congressional Research Service report. In order to invoke the Insurrection Act, the president “must first issue a proclamation ordering the insurgents to disperse within a limited time, 10 U.S.C. Though purely a hypothetical, Banks notes that the way it would happen would be through the Insurrection Act. “The sort of hellish scenarios that some people talk about is one where the president orders or regular military armed forces the United States to take over cities that he believes are engaged in an unlawful election, disruption or protests in the wake of an unresolved presidential election in the days after November 3," Banks noted. “That’s not extraordinary, nor would it be if the President federalized the National Guard for similar reasons, responding to a need to disseminate vaccines next winter, for example, would be perfectly appropriate, lawful, not martial law.” “Governors call the National Guard all the time to respond to a storms or power outages, delivering medical supplies, stuff going on even during COVID,” Banks said. “Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in all cases of insurrection, or obstruction to the laws, either of the United States, or of any individual state or territory, where it is lawful for the President of the United States to call forth the militia for the purpose of suppressing such insurrection, or of causing the laws to be duly executed, it shall be lawful for him to employ, for the same purposes, such part of the land or naval force of the United States, as shall be judged necessary, having first observed all the pre-requisites of the law in that respect.”īut activating the National Guard even under federal Title 32 status, in which the federal government helps pay for Guard troops under state control, does not fall under the Insurrection Act, nor does it equate to martial law in ordinary circumstances. by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings,” according to U.S. makes it impracticable to enforce the laws of the U.S. One exception to Posse Comitatus, however, is the Insurrection Act, which allows the use of active-duty or National Guard troops for federal law enforcement in cases when “rebellion against the authority of the U.S. However, National Guard units, which take their direction from state governors, are exempt from the Posse Comitatus Act. That act prevents troops from enforcing domestic law, preventing such actions as searching and seizing property or dispersing crowds. Though initially it only applied to the Army, it has been amended to include the Defense Department and, of course, the other service branches. The Posse Comitatus Act, passed on June 18, 1878, prevented federal troops from supervising Confederate state elections during Reconstruction.

One way heroics zenura1/6/2024 There's probably more ways to beat it but in the end, the more careful approach to most situations is what will save you, especially if you're playing with M turned on. Tentacle weeds can save your life as well, if you see a really strong enemy or the Demon Lord early on barreling down the path towards you, throw one of them at the threat then run away. Running around with no armor and no weapon is friggin liberating, not to mention greatly increases how much weight you can carry for stuff for your vault. Teleport pills can save you in a sticky situation, either teleporting away a tough enemy or teleporting yourself away to safety. Currently the Hero - I build with 5x Pro-Wrestling perks and pop Zenura Weave ASAP. Make sure to use items to their full potential too. I got through Inhumane pretty easily enough just doing this, as long as you're methodical about your approach to things and never rush it's not really that hard. Also remember to play smartly, the harder the difficulty, the more turns make a difference, every single step or misstep could mean the difference between life or death, most enemies, if M mode is turned off, should be slower than you, so the best way to fight without dieing is to run away until you get a 2x turn against them, when it says "Stopped" over the mobs heads hit them on that extra turn then keep running and repeat. Get items from your Vault to make yourself stronger off the bat or use an overpowered build like Hero with Pro-Wrestler x5 in Zenura mode. In One Way Heroics, you take on the role of an intrepid adventurer who must travel across the land and face the Demon Lord before a mysterious darkness engulfs everything.

For example, if a team’s star player were to suffer a season-ending injury near the start of the playoffs, this would not affect the team’s statistics greatly, but this incident can potentially cause the team to drastically underperform relative to their predicted performance. While these statistics do hold a degree of predictive power, they lack any information about individual player data or any other specific data. One of the major assumptions we made for our premise was that regular season team statistics are strong predictors of a team’s playoff success. Taking into account all of these considerations, the combination of variables we deemed the best for our model was Win% and Offensive Efficient Field Goal% (OEFG%). We ruled this result to be a bit unreasonable, so we decided to change our variables. Although the Mavericks lacked in the other statistics, their Offensive Rating statistic essentially “overpowered” the rest of the variables, and they were projected to be the most probable winner of the Western Conference Finals. When we applied the regression on our playoff teams, the model generated extremely high win probabilities for the Dallas Mavericks, as they have the highest Offensive Rating in the league by far. For example, when we included Offensive Rating as one of the variables, the model placed a heavy weight on it. This was either due to outliers among our 2020 playoff teams, or simply due to lack of predictive power in our selected variables. Although some combinations met our previous two criteria, since we only used regular season statistics to project playoff win probabilities, some of the results were questionable. Another factor that influenced our variable selection was the reasonability of the final results.

Imovie catalina download1/5/2024 Ironically, despite a) never usually upgrading in any tech area at the bleeding edge, b) having quite a lot of web development workspace in my old OSX that I would have to reinstall (PEAR libraries, MySql and all the rest to complete a PHP/Apache/MySqul development environment each time I upgrade OSX) but c) being attracted by Catalina's greater "memories" and other photo handling which, on spec, seemed to bring it closer to iOS Photos capability, I was persuaded (by myself!) to upgrade.Īs I said, ironic, huh?! Anyway, here is the email (in additional text) I just sent to Dave, with some additions to make it clearer for this thread. nearly all other posters on this thread had Photos working FINE as I did) before the "upgrade(!)' to catalina. I'm sure 9as a lifelong IT person (I'm 73) that the issue lies in that Catalina-Photos interaction. None of what follows is any criticism of Creative Media, or Dave (or Phil) since i think they are in the hands of Apple's tech folks to get the Catalina-Photos interaction understood and then repaired. This is an issue with Apple's OS (Catalina) and Apple HQ's inability to recognise or address the issue. I've added some further explanatory material for this post, which of course Dave is already aware of, because he has been very diligent in following up with me (to the extent of have colleagues to call when he has been travelling). Mpolda, here is what I have sent my contact, Dave, at Apple's Creative media group, who has been helping me (as Phil as been helping you).

It launches with dual-pane browsing, and the buttons on the interface are customizable. Path Finder is available as a free trial for 60 days,$36.Ĭommander One is one of the top choices as the free alternative to Finder. The latest version also adds support for modules to tweak and optimize different functions. Users can also preview images and edit text straight from the interface, without opening any other app. That means you can run commands right from the Path Finder’s GUI and check out results there. The app takes the cake with built-in support for Terminal and command-line tools, and HEX editor. You can also deal with various types of file archives directly. This file manager comes loaded with a boatload of file management features like Batch renaming, Smart sorting, File tagging, File List Filters, Advanced Low-level Search, Secure Delete, Keyboard shortcuts, etc. You can add the folder path directly in the path navigator section. It uses FolderSync for comparing such folders before syncing files. For smarter file management, Path Finder does that by merging the contents of two folders automatically so that there are no duplicates. So if you tend to take a backup of different files often, then Drop Stack acts as temporary storage to move and copy files and folders. The Drop Stack feature is quite handy for selecting multiple files to move or copy them in a single step. Path Finder is the first choice of many power users for features beyond the lauded dual-pane navigation. Note: All the Finder alternatives on this list work on macOS 10.15 Catalina. So let’s check out the Finder alternatives for Mac. And that list includes the different Finder alternatives on this list. To overcome that, you can subscribe to the SetApp Store at $9.99 per month to gain access to over 190 macOS apps. The cost of individual file managers can be hefty on your pocket, and the free trials may not give you a full-blown experience. Network Storage Management: Connecting to remote file servers via AFPS, SMB, and FTP/SFTP offers the bare minimum experience, which is not devoid of flaws.Dual-Pane View: One of the heavily demanded features for comparing files/folders between sections without opening two or more windows.Even Viewing options are quite limited to previewing media files only. Customizability: There’s no way to change the Finder menus and glorify the top ribbon with easy shortcut buttons. Before you get started, here are the three key reasons why one should look beyond Finder. So these apps will help you extend the functionalities. That’s why we have compiled a list of 5 best macOS Finder alternatives that you can try out on your Mac. You can try a file management app that comes loaded with several useful features. That said, it does fall short in multiple areas for reasons best known to Apple’s software team. After several years, Apple did improve Finder by leaps and bounds. Finder is the default file management system in macOS since the operating system’s debut in 1985.

Streams in java 81/5/2024 We’ll revisit this metaphor when we explore Intermediate and Terminal Operations below. The Stream is often visualized as a pipeline, as it acts as an intermediate step between the source of data, transforms it in some way, then outputs it in a new form downstream. The operation can either be applied one at a time by a single thread, or it can be split among multiple threads each applying the operation concurrently. We’ll see examples of these later on.įinally, sequential vs parallel refers to the ability to implement concurrency when completing stream operations. It is not a data structure as it does not store data rather it serves as a transformative medium from the data source to its destination.Īggregate operations, sometimes called stream operations, are simply operations unique to streams that we can use to transform some (or all) of the stream at once. Streams are an abstract layer added in Java 8 that allows developers to easily manipulate collections of objects or primitives. While a great tongue-twister, it’s not the most digestible definition. In the words of the all-powerful Oracle Interface Package Summary, a stream is “a sequence of elements supporting sequential and parallel aggregate operations”. Blue origin rocket price1/5/2024 SpaceX, is the only private company flying customers all the way to orbit, charging a much heftier price, too: tens of millions of dollars per seat. The capsule, carrying experiments but no passengers, landed intact. Blue Origin has launched 31 people so far, but flights are on hold following a rocket crash last fall. Like Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin aims for the fringes of space, quick ups-and-downs from West Texas. In contrast to Virgin Galactic’s plane-launched rocket ship, the capsules used by SpaceX and Blue Origin are fully automated and parachute back down. About 800 people are currently on Virgin Galactic’s waiting list, according to the company. Italian military and government researchers soared in June on the first commercial flight. Branson, the company’s founder, hopped on board for the first full-size crew ride in 2021. It was Virgin Galactic’s seventh trip to space since 2018, but the first with a ticket-holder. The rocket ship’s portion of the flight lasted about 15 minutes and it reached 55 miles (88 kilometers) high. With the company’s astronaut trainer and one of the two pilots, it marked the first time women outnumbered men on a spaceflight, four to two.Ĭheers erupted from families and friends watching below when the craft’s rocket motor fired after it was released from the twin-fuselage aircraft that had carried it aloft. Virgin Galactic is taking its first space tourists on a long-delayed rocket ship ride. The rocket system consists of two parts, the cabin or capsule and the rocket or the booster.Virgin Galactic's mothership Eve, carrying the rocket-powered plane Unity 22, flies after taking off from Spaceport America, near Truth or Consequences, N.M., Thursday, Aug. Elon Musk’s SpaceX is also working on sending tourists to space. As per CRS, the company has sent seven paying customers to space between 20 and tourist visits to space came to halt in 2011, when NASA suspended its shuttle program, after which American astronauts were given seats on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft to get to the ISS.Īpart from Blue Origin, Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic is also expected to begin space flights meant for space tourists this year. His flight to space was objected to by NASA citing lack of training. As per media reports, Garriott paid over $30 million to spend about 12 days at the ISS, which he traveled aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.īefore Garriott, Space Adventures’ customer Dennis Tito became the first space tourist in 2001. In 2008, the billionaire video game developer, Richard Garriott became the sixth private citizen to fly to space. which is recognised as the edge of space. In 2004, test pilot Mike Melville became the first private astronaut to fly beyond the Karman Line. In fact, Space Adventures is the only private company to send paying customers to orbital space so far, the report says. The idea is to provide easier and more cost-effective access to space meant for purposes such as academic research, corporate technology development and entrepreneurial ventures among others.Īpart from its academic and research-oriented goal, New Shephard will also allow space tourists to experience microgravity by taking them 100 km above the Earth. Essentially, it is a rocket system that has been designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. New Shephard has been named after astronaut Alan Shephard – the first American to go to space – and offers flights to space over 100 km above the Earth and accommodation for payloads. In 2019, both signed an agreement that gives Blue Origin permission to use NASA’s historic test stand, as a part of a growing number of partnerships between the space agency and the commercial space industry. In 2018, Blue Origin was one of the ten companies selected by NASA to conduct studies and advance technologies to collect, process and use space-based resources for missions to the Moon and Mars. |
