To avoid becoming a victim of ransomware, it’s crucial to keep your operating system and software up-to-date, avoid downloading suspicious files or attachments, and always back up your important data. However, if the decryptor fails to work, there are alternative methods that can be used to restore encrypted files. If your files have already been encrypted, don’t pay the ransom. Then, use the steps below to remove the ransomware from your system. Firstly, disconnect your computer from the internet to prevent the ransomware from communicating with its command server. If you have been infected by Lomx ransomware, don’t panic and take immediate action to protect your data. The ransom amount is $980, but the attackers promise to reduce it by 50% if the ransom is paid within 72 hours. The file contains instructions on how to contact the criminals behind Lomx and pay a ransom in exchange for the decryption key. The ransomware drops a file named “_readme.txt” in all directories where encrypted files are located. Encrypted files have a new “.Lomx” extension added to their original names, making them unreadable and unusable. Lomx ransomware encrypts various file types, such as documents, pictures, and databases. This key is called the “online key.” However, if the ransomware cannot connect to the server, it uses a fixed key called the “offline key,” which is unique to each version of the STOP (djvu) ransomware. If the ransomware is able to connect to the server, it receives a unique key that is used to encrypt the victim’s files. Lomx then collects information about the victim’s computer and establishes a connection with its command server. It also adds itself to the list of programs that start up every time the computer is turned on. Once it infects a computer, the ransomware creates a folder in the Windows system directory and copies itself to it. Lomx is typically distributed through various means, including disguising itself as freeware, hacked software, or key generators. This virus is part of the Djvu/STOP family of ransomware, which is known for its wide distribution and high infection rates. Lomx virus is a type of ransomware that infects computers and encrypts the files on the system. ![]()

Muta maestral lawn mower1/8/2024 ![]() We found the self-propulsion helpful for going up small hills (the lowest speed was all we needed) and turned it off when navigating around obstacles. We also appreciated the battery life and fast recharging this mower offers. Although it comes with just one EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery, it has a 60-minute runtime and only takes about the same time to recharge using the included rapid charger. And while it only took 50 minutes to mow our lawn, we are happy to report that the battery did not run out. If you have other EGO products at home with the same battery, you could always swap in that battery if you have a larger lawn and want to continue mowing without much of a break. Other user-friendly features we love include the easily-adjustable handle: You have two options for the height and three options for the angle, so you can pick the one that is most comfortable for you. We also found adjusting the cutting height to be a simple task, with six settings to choose from ranging in height from 1.5 to 4 inches. And when you are done, the handle is just as easy to fold, so you can store your mower vertically in your garage or shed. We do want to note that while we think this mower did a great job mowing in dry and damp conditions, once when mowing over a particularly wet area, an orange light came on and the mower stopped. However, once we moved the mower to a more drier area, we were able to start it again easily. The only other minor issue we reported is putting on the grass collection bag. Grass collection bag may spill when removing But other than those small issues, we think this is an excellent electric mower for navigating different types of terrain with ease.Ĭutting Width: 21 inches | Weight: 93.61 pounds | Power Source: Battery | Cutting Options: Bag, mulch, side-discharge We found it would be much easier with two people since it clips on tightly and it's a bit hard to get around the support bar (it popped off a few times during this process). We’ve tested the Greenworks Electric Corded Lawn Mower several times over the last few years, and it continues to stand out as the best affordable choice for small yards and tight spaces, even those with somewhat challenging terrain. In fact, while testing this mower in our latest round of testing, we had no issues navigating over divots, clumps, bumps, and other parts of our lawn that were uneven-we found that this mower powered right through them. Plus, the 12-amp motor is powerful enough for tough cutting and mulching, including the tall, spindly weeds in our yard. We didn’t report any issues mowing over slightly wet grass either. ![]() The 20-inch cutting deck is narrower than some other options, but we found that it helped us get through the tight areas of our yard easily. Adjusting the cutting height (seven different heights ranging from 1.5 to 3.75 inches) is simple as well, and really is the only setting you need to worry about. However, we did note that the mower didn't go quite low enough to cut some patches of clover. Although it's budget-friendly, we love that you have three options for your grass clippings-bag, mulch, or side discharge-and you don’t have to purchase any of these features separately (which would add to the cost). The grass collection bag was easy to clip on, although we did spill some grass clippings the first time we removed it and noted that the bag was not even full. However, we think this won't be an issue once we get the hang of it.Īlthough this electric model is corded, we appreciated the unlimited runtime and didn’t find the cord to be cumbersome. We did find ourselves holding on to the cord even though there was a cord restraint system that kept it in place, but we were able to mow the lawn easily with our other hand. ![]() It’s important to note that this mower must be used with a 14-gauge 50-foot extension cord or a 12-gauge 100-foot extension cord (not included). ![]()

Paragon m1 mac1/8/2024 ![]() ![]() Update 4 (May 2021): This is now fixed with Xcode 12.5 and macOS 11.3. Update 3: Great news! The WebKit crash when running on Rosetta 2 will be resolved with a future update in Big Sur. As a workaround, ensure at least one Simulator window is onscreen and visible. Update 2: I’ve heard that the choppy mouse cursor is an Xcode/Simulator bug, and it’s currently being worked on. Performance seems acceptable if you restrict parallel testing to, at most, two instances - otherwise, the system simply runs out of RAM and swapping is really slow. This isn’t great, but luckily we’re not using WebKit a lot in our current project. Update: We’re working around the WebKit crashes for now via detecting Rosetta 2 translation at runtime and simply skipping the tests where WebKit is used. There is a chance that Apple fixes these issues, but it’s not something to count on - given that this only affects older versions of iOS, the problem will at some point just “go away.” With our current schedule, we plan to drop iOS 12 in Q3 2021 and iOS 13 in Q3 2022, so it’ll be a while before we can fully move to Apple Silicon. However, it seems we’ll have to restrict tests to iOS 14 for that to work. ![]() We were extremely excited to be moving our CI to Mac minis with the M1 chip and are waiting on MacStadium to release devices. Some simulators even make problems on iOS 14 an example of this is iPad Air (4th generation), which still emulates Intel, so try to avoid that one. Performance also seems really bad, with Xcode periodically freezing, and the whole system becoming so slow that the mouse cursor gets choppy. It seems WebKit crashes in a memory allocator, throwing EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (code=EXC_I386_INVOP, subcode=0x0) (Apple folks: FB8920323). Moving the simulator to the same architecture as shipping devices will be beneficial and will help find more bugs. Our tests mostly ran just fine, although I found a bug specific to arm64, which we missed before, as we don’t run our tests on actual hardware on CI. Apple’s last experiment with fanless MacBooks was the 12-inch version from 2017, which builds the same project in 41 minutes. One can’t overstate how impressive this is for a fanless machine. For comparison, my Hackintosh builds the same in less than 5 minutes. Compiling the PSPDFKit PDF SDK (debug, arm64) can almost compete with the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro Apple offers (to date), with 8:49 minutes vs. I bought a MacBook Air 16 GB M1 to see how viable it is as a main development machine - here’s an early report after a week of testing. The excitement around Apple’s new M1 chip is everywhere. ![]()

Procreate to adobe illustrator1/8/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() But, the purpose is all the similarities they have. Of course, both are used to create digital art. in terms of adobe illustrator vs procreate they are two very different programs. Are there any similarities between adobe illustrator vs procreate? This results in multiple versions of the same image and extra storage space loss. If you create further modifications and want to keep it, you will store it as an entirely new image. You cannot save new edits in an old file. If you want to make tiny changes on the go, that might not always be possible. There’s no mobile version of the software. It feels like you may have to pay for another class just to learn how to use the software. This means there’s so much to learn, which can overwhelm the user. Too many tools can be pretty overwhelming for any beginner. Adobe Illustrator vs Procreate: What we dislike: The software is accessible through creative clouds across various desktops, laptops, and tablets. ![]() NOTE: IMHO price is exponentially proportional with functionality and capability. For that you will need an app such as Adobe Acrobat DC (the cloud based version) $14.99 a month with a one year contract, PDFPen pro 11 $124.99, PDF Pen 11 $74.99 PDF OCR X Enterprise Edition $24.99, or any one of a number of other OCR capable apps available from the App Store. Affinity Publisher does NOT have OCR capability and can neither create an OCR layer or edit a PDF.If there is NO OCR layer in the PDF publisher can cut and paste a section of text as a graphic image but it is not editable. But that is inherent in PDFs and in either MacOS or iOS can be done in any app including Preview, Pages, Notes, Word, and virtually every app including Publisher. If there is a OCR layer in the PDF you can select a portion or all of the text and copy it to another document. As I said, I keep hoping they will come up with an alternative to Adobe's Dreamweaver.Ĭan I extract text from. I have started with Version 1 or earlier of Affinity Photo, Designer, and now Publisher and so far I feel I have been well rewarded for being an early adopter. Then Affinity came along and I climbed on their bandwagon early. I would have gladly used InDesign but it was too pricey for my budget and/or needs and then then Adobe went to the software rental business model and I simply could not justify the annual cost. I have also explored some open source/freeeware apps, but their learning curve was steep and their documentation either too scanty or targeted toward knowledgeable pros using Windows so like the App Store products they ended up in the trash folder. (It is amazing what you can force fit if you use a big enough hammer 😠) At least you aren't saddled with having to shovel your way through and use a bunch of glitzy templates that are the stock in trade of so many desktop publishing apps. Like MS Word it is ill suited to text layout/desktop publishing but if you know it well enough it can produce acceptable, but not great results. I found I could get closer to what I wanted with NeoOffice. Adequate for home or perhaps very small business maybe, but not worth my effort to produce the caliber of output I wanted. I have tried several App Store offerings including iStudio and Swift Publisher and found them in some ways superior to Pages. Both free, though I have no problem paying for good software. ![]() Is there anything else you have used for text layout, whether small time or big time program? I thought about taking a look at Scribus or some version of Latex. My hope is Affinity will turn its talents to developing a viable competitor to Adobe Dreamweaver next. I suspect for someone coming from Adobe the re-learning curve may not be as steep, bit it is likely filled with pitfalls due to assumptions/expectations based on prior experience. There is also a very active and lively Affinity user community. They also offer comprehensive training Workbooks for Designer and Photo and a Publisher workbook is also promised. Like all very powerful software products there is a significant learning curve but Affinity offers several well done video tutorials. ![]() I have zero experience with the Quark product(s) so I cannot comment there. I am more of a dabbler than power user (much less guru) and it has been a long time since I used InDesign, but from my limited experience I believe Affinity Publisher is a viable competitor with Adobe InDesign. In most case the current Affinity product release accomplishes the same end result but via a different command or menu or series of steps. The biggest complaint I have seen about any of them has been "why doesn't it support the pick your command like Adobe?" or "Why doesn't Publisher do XXX like InDesign. Although I am in no way a Publisher, or InDesign guru I can safely say none of the Affinity products are a knock off of anything from Adobe and does their magic their own way. I have been using the Affinity Publisher beta for several months now and I just installed the release version. ![]()

The new capability leverages a range of data sources within the Zscaler platform to provide what the company says is “unparalleled” visibility. Zscaler unveiled Risk360, a new tool for risk quantification and visualization that aims to help organizations make better - and faster - decisions about reducing their security risk. “To me, that is the Holy Grail of security - real-time security, blocking the event as it’s happening.” “The new paradigm is we have to collect good data, we have to analyze good data, we have to figure out anomalous behavior and stop it as it is happening,” Arora said. In a recent interview with CRN, Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora said that the company is creating a “new paradigm” for security operations with Cortex XSIAM. With the update, Cortex XSIAM now consolidates ITDR with other security operations functionality including user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) and insider risk management, simplifying the use of the capabilities for security teams, the company said. Max Planck was working in a laboratory in 1900, heating up various substances and examining the color of light they emitted when they reached certain temperatures. But one thing that physicists couldn’t quite understand was the way light worked. They believed that the interactions between all physical objects, from atoms to planets, would be predicable and logical. At that time, physicists accepted the work of Isaac Newton without any criticism. It was on this day in 1900 that the physicist Max Planck published his theory of quantum mechanics, which is often considered one of the most radical scientific discoveries of the 20th century.
